According to the press, both Cambodia and Thailand agreed to establish the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) to manage humanitarian demining along the border. Demining must be non-unilateral, following agreed-upon SOPs, and activities will not prejudice the final boundary demarcation. The pilot demining area is in O Bei Chorn Commune, Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia, opposite Nonmak Moon Commune, Sa Kaeo, Thailand. After clearance, the areas must preserve the status quo ante in accordance with the MOU 2000.
